World Triathlon

Do North Events in partnership with World Triathlon and the City of Edmonton are committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety for our events. We have been working closely with our partners including Alberta Health Services and unfortunately, the river water quality during the testing phase in the lead-up to the event does not meet the quality allowable for competition.  Water quality in natural waters such as the river can change quickly due to rainstorms and events upstream. As such, we regret to inform our athletes that the swimming portion of the Americas Triathlon Cup, Junior Development race and the age-group Do North Triathlon will not be happening this year.  All races will still take place in a duathlon format – run, bike, run.  Age-group qualifying spots will still be valid for the duathlon format.

Do North Events was excited to offer a unique triathlon experience with a North Saskatchewan river swim however the health and safety of our athletes is of utmost importance to us.  Please know, we are committed to ensuring our elite, junior and age-group athletes have a fun and memorable experience, and thank you for your understanding with this update.  We look forward to welcoming the world and our community on August 26th.
