Panevėžys - a historic triathlon city of Europe.

Panevėžys was originally one of the first few (5th country in the World) cities to host a triathlon event.

On 16th of July, 5th largest city of Lithuania, Panevėžys will host Europe Triathlon Junior Cup stage. Competition will take place in newly renovated Panevėžys Senvagė park, located in the hearth of the city.
Panevėžys is in a perfect location from logistics standpoint, as there are 3 international airports located within reasonable distance:
• 106 km from Kaunas international airport (KUN)
• 145 km from Vilnius international airport (VNO)
• 160 km from Riga international airport (RIX)

As a host city for 2011 European Basketball Championships and a regional hub for track cycling (UCI Track Champions League 2021), Panevėžys can offer multiple accommodation options, all tailored to your needs. Hotel „Romantic“ located in a heart of the racing village is a top quality facility, with internal gym and swimming pool, other hotels are also within close proximity to Senvagė park.
Lastly, city of Panevėžys is hungry for international comeback, therefore, rest assured that we will do our best to provide exceptional racing experience for the athletes and supporting teams.

On a same day, Open Lithuanian Sprint Triathlon Championships will be hosted just after the European rising stars race. The Lithuanian championship is welcoming participants from other countries too at any level. Therefore, 16 of July in Panevėžys will be a true triathlon hotspot.

COURSE INFO

SWIM COURSE

Type: old riverbed lake
Start procedure: pontoon start
Number of laps: 1 for both individual and mixed-relay races. Counterclockwise swim for mixed-relay and clockwise swim for individual race.
Water temperature: unknown, most likely above 20°C

BIKE COURSE

Number of laps: 2 for both individual and mixed-relay race. Mixed relay course consists of two laps of 3 km, excluding appendix apparent in individual race.
Surface: asphalt, tyles
Quality: good and very good

RUN COURSE
Number of laps (individual): connection + 2
Number of laps (mixed relay): connection + 1
Surface: new tyle path (95%), asphalt (5%)
Quality: very good

Athletes Briefing:

Athlete’s briefing will take place at Hotel “Romantic” day before the race.
